I bought this TV in Christmas '08 for my wife for use in our Master Bedroom. After a year, I have nothing but good things to say.



I did a pretty good bit of research on this product, having owned a Panasonic 42" plasma prior to this. I got it in conjunction with another Panasonic 37" LCD for Christmas, and both are spectacular. The hue/green tone problems mentioned in the "most helpful negative review" just don't play out with our TV. The colors pop, the screen is bright, and the sound is very good. If I was sitting 3 inches from the TV with high-tech color calibration gadgets, could I uncover some imperfection? I suppose so.. but would it matter?



For everyday use, this TV delivers a crystal-clear image that is light-years above the CRTs of recent memory. If you have a nice source (such as DirecTV HD boxes), a TV this size looks great in 720p. There's just no need for 1080p unless you're getting above 37" - 42". For the price listed now, it's a steal. I spent about $300 more just a year ago.



Overall, another first-rate TV from Panasonic.

i bought this from a seller i found on amazon at christmas time and i dealt with them directly. i got this for $536.00 over two months ago after much research with no tax and free shipping. it showed up at my door 2 days later. i bought this for my bedroom and it's been played a lot! i could'nt be happier with it! the picture is stunning! a clear, crisp and sharp picture! the contrast ratio is only 10,000-1 so it looks better as the day wears on but i'm telling you the picture and clarity is first rate! you only need 720p for a hdtv 32" or smaller so my requirments when deciding on a bedroom tv were: 32", the $500.00 price range, a name brand, the best overall tv possible at the best price and a high energy star rating because i sleep with it on all night. after looking at sony,samsung,toshiba and others i decided on this one. panasonic has been building quality tv's for 50 years and this set proves it and it has the highest energy star rating in it's class. even the sound is good, not as deep and rich sounding as the 46" $3,000.00 hd/lcd samsung in my front room but for a $536.00 32" lcd/tv it is fairly good![it's a good stereo sound but with low amplification].........p.s. for your living room hdtv you would want a 25,000-1 contast ratio or more for viewing in all kinds of light. my samsung is 25,000 - 1 and it looks great morning, noon and night in any kind of light!............update 6/21/09...........after 6 months of ownership i couldn't be happier with this unit! has met and exceeded all my expectations. good job panasonic!.........update 2/11/10.........after all this time now with this lcd/tv being played between 10 to 12 hours everyday without ever skipping a beat all i can say is good job panasonic!

Can you believe that, for $1600 TV, it lasted only 2 year? People gave a very good review on it,just after a few month use, it is too short. They should have waited a long to give a review. No surprise there will be more bad reviews coming as people use it longer and more problem come out.



My TV now is filled with colorful vertical lines. It is dead after two yrs. I can not do anything but leave it as a junk. Repair cost will be worth a new TV.



I wish every one who has the same problem with the TV will post a review here.

 "Good TV, but too many design issues" 2009-12-26

My title pretty much sums up what I think of this TV: I bought it about 2 years ago, and like many others, were very pleased with the price and performance for quite a while.



Then, the problems started: the infamous "HDMI handshake issue", which causes the screen to drop out on at strange intervals, was annoying, but I could live with it. Also, Samsung was willing to fix it (within the 1 year warranty).



The bigger issue with this set, and many from this timeframe made by Samsung, are the power supply issues that these models had, where after a year or so, just out of the warranty period, the TV would labor to turn on, and then eventually not turn on at all. The complaint with the set is that they obviously chose either cheap components (basic 50-cent capacitors) or they designed the set incorrectly so that decent components can't handle the load. After seeing the internal guts of my TV, as I was forced to go in there and put in new capacitors, I'm going with the first choice: I think they chose cheap capacitors because of packaging constraints. You can fix it (there are many sites out there dedicated to fixing the power supply issue), but seriously, wouldn't it be better to design it right in the first place? And when Samsung admits there's a problem, but refuses to fix it, that doesn't sit well with me, either.



So in short, this TV has everything you'd want in terms of picture: in short, I think it's amazing. But the quality problems will get you, eventually. Just know that Samsung's customer service isn't so great. Because of that alone, this is probably the last Samsung set I purchase. This is one model where buying a refurb'ed set might be a good idea....find out what they did to it. If they replaced some capacitors or boards due to the issues I spelled out above, it's probably a safe bet.

Similar experience to lots of recent reviewers. The picture looks great on this LCD TV but ONLY when it works!! The display of the TV showed vertical multi color stripes after 20 months of usage. First it was intermittent upon power up, then it just became permanent. Also had the clicking sound / turning off on it's own problem, but that one just last for a few months.



This really makes me put samsung at the bottom of the list for any major appliances consideration.

Wall mount is very sturdy and supports our 48" flat screen. Does not easily move once mounted (use both hands - moves even better with two people). But we wanted a unit that could support the weight with no worry - it definitely does that. Instructions poor. We bought extra wall bolts to mount the unit. "Tilt" feature is awkward - must be locked into place and cannot be altered by just pushing. Very please that it doesn't "bend" with weight of TV. Would still recommend because of quality of construction and sturdiness.

Very strong and well designed. It will easily hold an 80lb. TV as advertised. Per other reviews - you can't move your studs so if centering is a big deal, you will need to move the wall mount one way or the other - you can move it about 4". You can also move your TV about 4" either way on the panel that your TV hangs on. With studs on 16" centers then you should be able to center your TV on any wall BUT I'm not sure I would want my TV hanging way over to one side of the panel it hangs on.



The directions could be better - I guess that keeps people that aren't handy from not getting the mount secured properly to the wall - they will end up hiring someone to hang it. Not that be a deal..

this is a good strong mount that was very easy to position and place my 46 inch bravo on.



however, for some reason that i'm still trying to understand, my set is level when paralel to the wall, but i bought this for a corner installatation and as soon as i move the tv to a viewable angle it has a tilt of one and one quarter inch from the closest point to the wall outward.



a rather annoying delema and i've examined it form all angles n am yet to understand the why of it, so that i might write the manufacturer with some degree of intellegence on this

I wasted my time and money ordering this "Universal" fit mount only to find it is neither wide nor tall enough to mount my Pioneer Kuro set.

Have not received a return process from my vendor. Perhaps I'm out shipping both ways. Cant wait to find out.

A better description of the capabilities and dimensions of the mount base would go a long way in ensuring customer satisfaction, but would probably cut down on sales so we know where thats going. Right ?

Mounted a 52" Sharp LCD tv on this mount. Make sure you hit the middle of the studs and it will hold your TV fine. I did a pull up on the mount before putting the tv on it and I weigh 150 lbs. Very good mount, especially for the price.
